Hello everyone, my name is Jake.
I am the reason why my owners now run a hydrotherapy centre. Being a typical border collie I loved nothing more (apart from my FOOD!!) than the thrill of the chase. I could play ball for hours, even after a long walk in the woods, I would still pester my owners to play with me when we got back home.
When I was 8 years old, I started to have problems with my hind legs and I struggled to chase after my ball and move around. My owners took me to the hospital to see the vet, apparently he is a Super Vet, I was diagnosed with cruciate ligament disease in both hind legs.
A few weeks later I went back to the hospital and Miguel fixed my right hind leg. Miguel told my owners to take me to hydrotherapy as it would help me to get better, so that I could return to have my other leg fixed.
I love swimming and I got to go in the pool every week as part of my rehabilitation. It was great fun and I could exercise in the warm water without having to put all my weight on my poorly legs.
A few months past and I got to go back and see my friend Miguel. He was pleased with my post operation recovery and fixed my other leg.
I am now nearly 14 years old but I can keep up with my younger sisters. I am a semi-retired ball chaser, I still love to play ball with my owners but they don't throw it as far and not for as long.
I am so excited that my owners have opened a hydrotherapy centre in my back garden and I even get to appear in the company logo, my social media is going wild!. I look forward to meeting some new friends that are experiencing problems similar to mine so that my owners can make them get better too.
